Medical Internships in Costa Rican Clinics

Costa Rica offers free healthcare to its citizens, but resources are limited and help is always needed. Participants work in small private and public clinics where interns can assist doctors in a variety of fields and procedures. Interns joining the medical program must have proven academic training in the medical field to apply. Nursing students are also welcome to apply. Basic Spanish is required to communicate with patients and staff. The level of responsibility given to the intern is tied to the intern's training and experience. Possible tasks: - Shadowing doctors in the treatment of patients - Helping sort medical supplies - Preparing medical equipment. - Helping in emergencies and field visits - Helping in health awareness workshops. Program Duration: 4-12 weeks
