If teaching is your passion, you should travel to India to teach English to disadvantaged children and immerse yourself in the colourful local culture and the beauty of the surrounding tropical beaches. Interns live in the fascinating area of Kerala and assist local educators in teaching disadvantaged children from poverty stricken communities. You will be working in local slum schools and care centers, assisting children with extra lessons to help improve their English skills. After completing the first 12 weeks on the internship interns will undertake their 12-week work placement where they will assist the GVI team in managing the operations of our program. After successfully completing the internship, interns may be given the opportunity to work for GVI or selected partners.

I had a great time here!
by: Jacqui - AustraliaProgram: Teaching Internship in IndiaI had a great time here. All of the staff were supportive and willing to teach you everything they know. I enjoyed the variety of programs they offered at Jalova and liked that I could focus on areas that I had more interest in. There is a big sense of community here and everyone is very supportive of each other. I can’t wait to come back.
This program thought me a lot.
by: Justin - United StatesProgram: Teaching Internship in IndiaI was teaching English for only 2 hours a day and it was more exhausting then I expected. I am planing on going home and writing letters, apologizing to some of my teachers that I was rude to. Letting them know I’m sorry for my juvenial acions. This program thought me a lot about respect.
Increased my self confidence as a leader.
by: Bridget - United StatesProgram: Teaching Internship in IndiaI feel like GVI has not only drastically boosted my skill set as a potential employee but has also increased my self confidence as a leader. Also, by living in conditions like these it has required me to think outside the box for solutions to problems that might be simpler back home, as I do not have access to the same resources, making me a much more creative problem solver!
