Can I pick where I will be placed?

Participants live with a local host family during the program. You will receive your host family contact information prior to departure. We cannot guarantee placement in a specific region or city and it is important to be flexible in your placement location, as there are families throughout the country.

Can I still teach a host family even without teaching experience?

The English lessons tend to be informal and conversation based. There is no pre-determined curriculum; however, you should be prepared to put together a lesson plan for each tutoring session. Greenheart Travel provides access to a library of resources to help you develop ideas for the lessons.Typically, host families expect you to speak English with them over dinner or for a certain amount of time during the day.

Are there any health requirements to join this program?

Yes. You should be in good physical and mental health. Plus, you must have received complete COVID-19 vaccination (mostly required for US citizens to enter Spain).

10 out of 10. I think this program provides you with a greater experience than just visiting the country alone. I was placed with a family that made me fall in love with Spain 110%, and I know that visiting solo would’ve been fun but I don’t think they would be as much attachment to a place if you don’t make lifetime friends out of it. The family I was placed with was a perfect fit and I’m so grateful to have met them with the help of this program!
