High School Language & Cultural Immersion in China for Teens

Going to China with GoAbroadChina was my first trip outside my country as a high school student. At first, I felt nervous and shy, but I quickly made friends and started to feel comfortable. In the mornings, we had Chinese language classes, and in the afternoons, we joined fun cultural activities. I learned to write Chinese characters and even gave calligraphy a try—it was really cool! We visited amazing places like the Great Wall and the Forbidden City, which felt like walking through history. I stayed with a local family who welcomed me like one of their own. They were kind and always happy to share their culture and daily life with me. After the trip, I felt more confident and open to new things. My Chinese speaking got way better in just a short time. This program was the perfect mix of learning, adventure, and fun.

Learning Chinese in China with Go Abroad China was super fun and really helpful. The teachers were friendly, and classes were small, so we learned a lot fast. I stayed with a local family and had to speak Mandarin every day, which made me better quickly. I loved going on trips to places like old gardens and temples, where we could use our new words. One time I even bargained in Chinese at a market—it felt awesome! We also did fun stuff like tai chi and making dumplings. After the program, I could speak more clearly, and China felt like home.

My teachers were strict but caring, and I felt really supported. This experience helped me become stronger, smarter, and ready for college. I’ll never forget my time in China—it was a big step that changed my life.
