Globe Aware is a nonprofit organization that develops short-term volunteer programs in a variety of countries that encourage people to immerse themselves in a unique way of giving back. We have been featured and profiled in numerous news outlets, including CNN, The New York Times, and Business Week. Every activity we engage is intended to accomplish one of two things: promote cultural awareness or promote sustainability. For us the concept of cultural awareness means to recognize and appreciate the real challenges of a culture but not change it. The concept of sustainability, on the other hand, is to help others stand on their own two feet. Our projects meet several key criteria, including safe, culturally interesting, and genuinely beneficial to a needy community.

Costa Rica- Orosi Valley
by: Constance Newhouse - United StatesProgram: Orosi Valley Paradise ExperienceThere was plenty of time to experience various tours and engage in the culture. Really enjoyed having lunches and dinners with local families. Honestly, the whole experience was amazing - culture, volunteering, food, people. - CHAD JONES
What a time!!
by: Kiley P. - United StatesProgram: The Camino del Mayab TrailGlobe Aware was so helpful from the pre-departure to the arrival. Really a beyond-the-expected experience. I will definitely do a volunteer travel each year. I volunteered in Merida, Mexico and it was a trip of a lifetime. I really connected with the locals, I swam in beautiful cenotes every day, and explore the Mayapan ruins etc.. I helped the surrounding community rebuild a school. I definitely recommend this kind of experience to anyone curious and who is seeking meaningful trips.
First experience in Cuba and travel after pandemic
by: Natalie Cecenas - United StatesProgram: Exploring the Culture of CubaI'm a retired teacher and it was my first time heading to Cuba, overall I understand travel hasn't been happening much, so there were a few hiccups with making everything run smoothly. For example, getting into Cuba, all the documents became quite confusing. I'm grateful Globe Aware team assisted me with figuring everything out, and their coordinator, Sergio was very friendly and helpful. Lovely experience on the island, looking forward to doing more.
