Incredible journey @ Genius International School

November 28, 2024by: Godwin George - IndiaProgram: Teach & Shape the Future at Genius International School

Relocating to Wayanad, India to work as a Guide for Genius International School has been an incredible journey, both professionally and personally. I was drawn to this program because of its innovative approach to education, which emphasizes student-led learning and real-world problem-solving, but the experience has given me so much more than I anticipated. I had lived and worked in the UAE my entire teaching career and I was skeptical of moving to a smaller city but since the moment I arrived, the team at GIS made sure I felt supported. The relocation process was smooth, with plenty of resources to help me adjust, from finding comfortable housing to learning about local customs. The school’s emphasis on project-based and experiential learning means that every day brings new opportunities to inspire students and see them grow into confident, curious learners. The transformation in the children is remarkable, and being a part of that journey is deeply fulfilling. Living in Wayanad has been a wonderful cultural immersion. I felt reassured by the school’s commitment to safety and the welcoming attitude of the local community. There is a strong emphasis on respect and kindness, and the diverse environment has allowed me to connect with people from many backgrounds. If you're looking for a role where you can truly make an impact, while discovering a beautiful, vibrant culture, this teaching opportunity at GIS is an experience I highly recommend.
