The challenge
In the rural communities surrounding us, teenage pregnancy is at 26%, and women face many economic, social, and educational barriers. This is due to the prevalent 'machista' within the culture, as well as a lack of education and resources to enable women to make empowered choices.

The solution
Gender roles can provide a valid community and family function. However, there should be an assurance that all have a voice and equal opportunities, especially with education, work, and reproductive health. As an intern, you will help identify the key problems faced and co-create sustainable solutions with community members, schools, health centers, and other key stakeholders.
