Programs in Sri Lanka start on the first and third Monday of every month throughout the year, with projects in Galle lasting from 1–11 weeks and in Kegalle from 4–11 weeks.

CROSS ROAD asks that volunteers be… 
- 18 years of age or older at the start of the program
- fluent in the English language
- high school graduates or have at least a GED
- respectful of all partner organizations and local community members

Given the physical requirements of the tasks involved in the Elephant Conservation Project, good physical health is essential.
