Excellent TEFL Course

by: Will Gerson - United StatesProgram: 150-Hour TEFL Certification Course

Overall, I was very happy with CIEE's 150-hour TEFL course. The course was entirely online, which made it very manageable to complete while working a full-time job, yet at the same time it had a really individualized feel––my teacher was very attentive and gave super helpful feedback, and there were ample opportunities to engage with her as well as with my classmates. In addition, the job placement assistance that CIEE gives you is second-to-none: they landed me a job offer from a great English ...

Teaching abroad as a certified US teacher

by: Kally Kibitlewski - United StatesProgram: Get Paid to Teach in Thailand | 1 or 2 Semester options

When I first signed up to teach abroad, I thought it would be a fun way to travel a bit, learn about a new culture, and have the chance to expand my love of teaching in a new school. I thought that I would have a leg up on others in the program since I am a certified teacher in the states with 3 years of teaching experience. I thought I would have to worry more about planning trips than teaching the students. Then I arrived in Thailand and discovered that it didn't matter that I had taught p...

Great support and security

by: Karen Holl - United StatesProgram: Teach English in South Korea + Rent-Free Housing with CIEE!

I applied to the EPIK program to teach in public schools through the CIEE program and I couldn't have been happier to go through them. I was put in touch with an advisor who helped with every step of the application process and always answered my countless emails. My program also came with a full course to receive my TEFL certification in which I learned a lot of valuable teaching tools. Through CIEE I felt as prepared and secured as I could be as I left for South Korea. I've been here for a lit...

Of all things, it was a web ad that appeared, informing me about teaching English overseas. At that point, I was stuck in my life and I felt I needed a new direction. Originally I wanted to go to Argentina, but didn't find a program that I found suitable. I knew I wanted to go to a Spanish speaking country, so I could use all that Spanish that I learned for seven years in an applicable way.
