Live and study in the heart of Mexico’s Yucatán Peninsula. Surround yourself with tropical landscapes and ancient temples while living in Mérida, one of the safest cities in North America. Attend classes at a private high school five days a week with local teachers and classmates. Whether exploring Mexico’s past in clase de historia and mastering science vocab in clase de química, you’ll learn 100% in Spanish! On weekends, discover pueblos mágicos (magical towns), swim in cenotes (caves with fresh water), and taste authentic dishes only found in the Yucatán region. Bonding and sharing traditions with your new friends and host family will make you feel at home.

Program Highlights

Wander around pastel-colored buildings and lively markets and try traditional Yucatecan dishes, like cochinita pibil, in Valladolid.

Explore the Mayan ruins of Chichén Itzá and crystal-clear waters of cenotes.

Take a day trip to the port city of Progreso, where you’ll find Yucatán’s most beautiful white-sand beaches and the paradisical nature reserve of El Corchito.

Attend local festivals, visit sights of cultural and historical importance, and take day trips with your host family—wherever they go, you go!

Join organized trips, which are scheduled earlier in the term so trimester students can participate and different every semester.
