CIAL Centro de Linguas is the pioneer school for Portuguese in Portugal. Founded in 1959, CIAL is the oldest language school in Lisbon that is still in operation. Every year, more than a thousand students follow courses with the school, which boasts 14 classrooms in Lisbon. CIAL also has a school in Faro with 6 classrooms.

Apart from regular and intensive Portuguese language courses, CIAL Centro de Linguas also offers special programs such as Portuguese plus Surf, Portuguese plus Volunteering, and Portuguese plus Professional Internships. Courses include textbooks and MP3 audio files, social activities, and accommodation in a private home, shared apartment, or residence.

Accredited by IALC, EAQUALS, Instituto Camoes, and the Portuguese Ministry of Education, CIAL undergoes strict and periodic inspections and audits that guarantee that it maintains the highest standards in teaching, facilities, optional services, and professional training of staff.
