by: AnnikaProgram: Summer@BSME in Budapest, HungaryI really REALLY enjoyed this semester in the BSME program. I would definitely recommend it to anyone, whether you’ve already had experience teaching math, or if you are just interested in mathematics education. I have learned so much and have had countless opportunities to improve my teaching abilities and learn more about Hungarian education.
Best decision
by: RachelProgram: Summer@BSME in Budapest, HungarySpending a semester in Budapest is the best decision I’ve ever made. The astounding BSME program has changed the way I think about math and education. The people I was able to meet have forever changed the way I think about myself and the world. More than anything, I am incredibly grateful for the friends I’ve made. And don’t think this is goodbye, I plan on returning to Hungary as soon as possible.

What inspired you to travel abroad?
I was drawn to the Hungarian approach to teaching mathematics, which places a strong and explicit emphasis on problem solving, mathematical creativity, and communication. Most of our participants are university/college students at US institutions who are striving to become secondary mathematics teachers. Sharing the Hungarian pedagogy with them and helping them become better teachers is something that I care deeply about.
