Great experience with an impact
by: Tim Desmond - United StatesProgram: Global Service Learning ProgramI loved participating in the Virtual Global Leadership Internship this summer, I feel that I learned valuable skills relevant to my future career while making an impact at this great organization. I recommend this program for people looking to make a difference that prefer a more flexible and open-ended program for them to showcase their skills.
Enriching experience
by: Riley GalanteProgram: Global Service Learning ProgramI was very fortunate to be able to participate in Bright Light Corporate's virtual internship this summer. I was so thrilled to be able to practice and apply my skills for a cause that I knew would make a lasting impact on so many lives. I also appreciated how easy it was to communicate with the internship coordinators, and how accommodating and flexible they were. I strongly recommend participating.

For most of my life, I have heard that I was lucky to have been born in the United States, where we often take our freedom and luxuries for granted. I have always tried to be aware, and to make others aware, of other cultures. After studying cultural anthropology and sociology in college, I became even more aware of my place in the world. I was put here to help those who don't have a voice, those who the Western world has forgotten about. That's when I realized that global volunteering was my passion.

What inspired you to travel abroad?
I volunteered abroad with my children beginning when they were 5 and 7-years-old. Witnessing the way that service and travel has influenced them during their development was inspiring. I want to help all youth be able to participate in international travel and service and believe that has the power to make the world a brighter place for all!
