Spend the spring semester in the classic city of Florence with AIFS. You’ll earn up to 16 credits through a variety of courses studying at Richmond, the American International University. Courses are taught in English or Italian, and no previous Italian language study is required.

This program combines Florence’s long history in the field of fashion and luxury goods and specialized coursework to give students interested in a career in fashion a unique academic experience. They take a 3-credit language course, plus 4 mandatory fashion related courses. Another credit is available by taking the optional Introduction to Italian Art course. AIFS in Florence includes a one-week orientation in Rome before the semester begins so students can acclimate themselves to Italian language and culture.

Live in a homestay or a shared student apartment located in different neighborhoods of the city center. Immerse yourself in Italian language and culture with a homestay. An optional meal plan is available and internet access is included in all housing.

You’ll enjoy cultural and social activities such as guided city walks, visits to the many museums, churches and cultural sites of Florence.
