Language Programs in Japan

This was my first time taking Bildungsurlaub and also coming to Japan. So I was very excited about combining these two experiences together. I came across Meiji as it was the only school that offered educational leave for my German state I am employed (Rheinland-Pfalz). The staff took a lot of time guiding me through the whole process and organized me my housing in a great student dorm. The program itself was very intense but rewarding. I decided to do after the two weeks studies an additional week of relaxing and joining a few modules from Meiji (Traditional Culture and Pop Culture). The students were very international with most coming from Europe and America. I think it is a great place to spend your time studying the language and culture. Thank you for all the help.

It wasn't my first time in Japan. It was already the fourth time I went, but first time up north in Sapporo. As I was eligible to do Bildungsurlaub even though my citizenship is not German, I was glad to have had this opportunity to combine it with a Japan excursion. Meiji helped me sort out all my paperwork to get approved for Berlin Bildungsurlaub leave and the program was also very well structured. The thing I do have to say, don't do 1 week! Go for the 2-week Bildungsurlaub leave. My time was great but it can get very busy and quite hectic for the short period I was there. Nevertheless I felt in love with Hokkaido and especially Sapporo. I will be back next time here again. Thanks for all Meiji and hope to see all teachers and Nakamura-sensei again!
