Camino de Santiago: Hiking the Way

Experience the ancient pilgrimage of the Camino de Santiago, hiking through the stunning landscapes of northern Spain. This historical journey, dating back to the 10th century, invites you to walk in the footsteps of millions of pilgrims who have ventured this sacred path before you. Each day, you’ll trek from village to village, soaking in the rich cultural heritage and natural beauty that defines the region. The journey culminates in the breathtaking city of Santiago de Compostela, home to the shrine of St. James the Apostle. Along the way, you'll stay in authentic albergues (pilgrim hostels) or cozy guest houses, connecting with fellow travelers from all over the world. As you hike, you’ll witness firsthand the spirit of community that unites pilgrims on this incredible trail. From the picturesque countryside to the vibrant towns, every step brings you closer to history, beauty, and inner peace. Join this transformative experience in Spain, where the Camino offers a unique opportunity to connect with yourself, embrace nature, and create lifelong memories.

Study Abroad at an American High School in Spain

Develop and sharpen your Spanish language skills while working toward your High School Diploma on this study abroad program! Take advantage of the opportunity to discover a unique, authentic part of Spain. At Chester College, we follow the American curriculum and transfer credits automatically to any American school. Students stay with us for a semester or an entire academic year (even longer!). We run a small school, ensuring a family atmosphere. Everyone knows each other, and each student receives a high level of personal support and mentoring from their tutor. Class sizes typically range from seven to eight students. Spanish isn’t necessary to enroll at Chester College; just lots of enthusiasm! Choose to stay either in a boarding house (split into girls' and boys, and located next to the school) or with a host family. On weekends, we take advantage of the beautiful scenery that surrounds us and often go to the beach or engage in outdoor activities, as well as explore the beautiful city of Santiago de Compostela.

I learned a lot

I got along with my program director very well and certainly hope to cross paths with him again sometime soon. All of my Spanish teachers were great and I genuinely feel like I learned a lot from the classes. It was a great experience that I recommend to other students.
