Madeline Hume

Madeline graduated with degrees in Political Science and Spanish and a minor in Philosophy from Kalamazoo College. During her junior year, she participated in a seven month study abroad in Santiago de Chile living with a host family and taking classes at La Universidad de Chile, Universidad Diego Portales, and the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. The following summer she returned to Chile to participate in an internship with Chile Transparente, the Chilean chapter of Transparency International focusing on promoting transparent business practices in the public and private sector. After this internship, Madeline dedicated her senior year to investigating Chilean youth political culture and its relation to post-dictatorial social and economic conditions that remain in Chile today.
