This fantastic program offers multiple placements to volunteers, each one playing an important part in supplying quality medical care to people in need. They can work at the Shanzu Village Prison Hospital, Mombasa Central City Hospital, Mlaleo Hospital, or Utange Hospital. The Shanzu Village Prison Hospital provides medical services to inmates and the local community. The Central City Hospital is the largest in the coastal area, with the same departments as any Western hospital. These include social work, surgery, inpatient, outpatient, oncology, maternity, pediatrics, X-ray, HIV/AIDS, cardiovascular, ENT, and emergency services. Alongside the Central Hospital is the blood collection center, where volunteers assist in the laboratory (for participants with medical experience). They may also raise awareness of the need to donate blood among local community members. Mlaleo and Utange hospitals are rural facilities in Diani Beach. Nursing and non-medical volunteers provide essential care in two small clinics, which lack the professional capacity of doctors.

As a volunteer teacher at a rural primary school, you’ll embark on a transformative journey, venturing into communities where educational resources are scarce but determination and enthusiasm abound. Volunteer in this project and discover over 100 bird species, green turtles, and unique coral gardens in Mombasa. Get the chance to explore an ecosystem of marine and tidal habitats along Kenya’s north coast with rich and diverse bird life, fish, turtles, and dugongs. The placement is in an animal orphanage, which shelters and quarantines rescued animals found sick, injured, orphaned, or stranded in the wild. Your tasks include: - Feeding giraffes in the park and crocodiles in pens, with over 90 inhabitants, including juveniles - Monitoring the biodiversity, health, and growth of the reef system around Mombasa through fish, invertebrate, and coral surveys - Monitoring and collecting data on Mombasa turtles to help assess the success of conservation efforts

Volunteers are invited to participate in a program that aims to provide high-quality education in Kenya. You will share your knowledge with elementary school children, including those in kindergarten, nursery school, and upper levels. As a volunteer teacher, you can choose to teach your syllabus or follow the one provided by the school administration. You can participate in our Kenyan school calendar schedule, whether on a short or long-term basis. Volunteers are given a break during school holidays in April, August, and December. Schools are located in various parts of the county, each offering beautiful and serene surroundings, with mountains and just a two-hour drive from the capital city of Nairobi. The teaching schedule runs from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm. During your free time, you can go on excursions with students, ride a bike, enjoy evening walks, read a book in relaxing settings, or write your reflections. We welcome couples, individuals, and groups. All projects are near amenities like hospitals, banks, ATMs, swimming pools, and clubs. Volunteer teachers are provided access to WiFi, a working desk, a laptop (at times), and free tours to wildlife destinations.

New Hope Children's School, located in Kisauni, Mombasa, Kenya, is dedicated to supporting underprivileged children by providing education, shelter, food, healthcare, and counseling. As a registered institution, we strive to create a safe and nurturing environment for our pupils. We welcome volunteers to make a meaningful impact by assisting in teaching, meal preparation and serving, washing utensils, laundry, and facility maintenance, including furniture and building repairs.
