Amazing experience with ALBA
by: Fatima Monserrat Martinez Vazquez - MexicoProgram: ALBA Study Abroad Barcelona. A Unique, Small-Group ProgramI had a great time in Barcelona this term, ALBA was a great study abroad program and I am very glad I chose it at my program. Through ALBA I felt like I was able to experience different adventures, meet a lot of people, and be a part of fun activities. I felt that everything was very well organized and the program really focuses on getting students to explore Barcelona. I do wish I would’ve taken an Art class here with ALBA since I only heard good things about it. I took all business classes and...
Amazing study abroad program! Would recommend to anyone!
by: Maluhia Nahuina - United StatesProgram: ALBA Study Abroad Barcelona. A Unique, Small-Group ProgramThis was an amazing program that helped me learn so much about Spain, meeting new people, and have new experiences! They did a great job making sure students have everything they need and being prepared for going abroad. Their orientation was very informative and helpful. Classes are small so you get to connect with your peers and teachers. Barcelona is also very close to other places so you can easily travel just for the weekend to explore Europe. I will note to choose classes that you’ll enjoy...

When the opportunity to study abroad presented itself through a generous scholarship donation from the Alba Study Abroad Program, I took up the opportunity with conviction, packed my bags, and traveled across the world to a country I knew would challenge everything I thought I knew about the world. My mission in studying abroad was to gain the much needed global perspective, intercultural literacy, worldliness, and Spanish language fluency that many employers in the workforce value. Basically, I wanted to have a competitive edge and upper hand in my job search endeavors. But apart from all of this I was also curious about the world, the different existing societies, languages, and customs. I had always been fascinated with these variables.

What inspired you to travel abroad?
When I first came in contact with ALBA, I saw a small enterprise with infinite possibilities and a great team already in place. I was also very interested in the idea of working in an environment surrounded by young and curious students.

I wanted to go abroad to experience a different way of life. I wanted something new and exciting and felt that going to a completely foreign place with a new language would be exactly what I was looking for. I’ve loved traveling my whole life and I knew that studying and living in a new country would be an immersive alternative to staying in the U.S. to finish my degree.
