After daily language classes, you’ll practice your Spanish vocabulary in the community during walks with your program leader, a US-based Spanish teacher, and then hang out with local high school students. Your home away from home will be a huge learning experience in and of itself. The Interior Design and Decoration Junior Summer Course is an intensive program for young aspiring designers aged 15 - 18 years old with a passion for design and beauty who want to take their first steps in the wonderful world of interior design. Taught in English, this course covers all the basics of how to 'dress' spaces and create living experiences based on the relationship with objects and people. It is a learning experience that encompasses the fundamentals of understanding spaces, and designing and decorating new interiors for new trends. See how a professional interior designer works; discover different interior design processes and techniques: concept studies and the representation of ideas; learn how to use color or materials and understand the user, and access ground-breaking visualization tools such as virtual reality—used more than ever in the sector. Travel to Granada, known for its stunning architecture and cultural heritage, where you’ll participate in intensive Spanish language classes at the Centro de Lenguas y Educación Intercultural. Engage in experiential learning, including music, film, city scavenger hunts, sports with local students, and interactive workshops on community initiatives. Live with a host family in Granada for a weeklong homestay, connecting with local families and gaining firsthand insight into the city’s social fabric. With 25+ hours of formal and experiential language practice, you’ll deepen your understanding of Spanish language, culture, and community engagement before returning to Madrid for reflection and final practice.
